Marcos LaFarga

LIVE PAINTING SATURDAY, 8/12

With every letter crafted there is a story being told, and with only 26 of them to augment it takes a deft hand and a designer mind to make them distinct. Born in 1978 in Antioch, California, Marcos LaFarga has been developing his true west design aesthetic right in the epicenter of California creativity. His pedigree is one that runs from the wall and the freight, to a BFA in 2006 from California College of the Arts. It is this diverse background that provides him with the depth to move and merge between otherwise separate visual languages. Marcos focuses his artistry on the intersection of three fundamentals of visual expression, graphic design, typography, and photo realistic renderings, all three which he seamlessly melds to create a united reflection of our contemporary life. With an abundant sense of color value and contrast, a sublime sense of humor, and a sensitivity for the balance our eyes naturally seek; Marcos is creating honest work that effortlessly represents contemporary design and composition.

MESNGR

LIVE PAINTING SUNDAY, 8/13

Mesngr classically trained in the eighties a generation that took advantage of opportunities to get creative with spray paint on the cities landscapes. Mesngr has painted several monumental pieces through out the years, and has been contributing to the graffiti movement for several decades now in the Bay Area and Nationally.

In his most recent direction he has focused on commercial sign painting and community artworks with the youth, but his personal works still often push the ""appropriate” envelope. Mesngr doesn't really plan to cause conflict through his work but merely expresses a merge of Pop, Skate, Gangster, Punk & Hip Hop cultures he grew up with. However he does express that "If my work raises a brow, isn't that what art is supposed to do? Move you. In that sense I'm doing something right."

The Fly Lord

LIVE PAINTING SUNDAY, 8/13

My love for art started young. The Central Valley was where I saw endless rolling canvases traveling from miles away and gracing our city with beautiful murals. Like most I started by just writing my name, it wasn’t my intention to become “The Fly Lord”. I was just a kid having fun and painting; until I saw a photograph of a house fly and decided to paint it on a boxcar. I paint life size insects of all types. What draws me to insects is that I find beauty in something that most people find ugly.

Drane

TUNNEL PAINTING

Drane represents the Central Valley to the fullest. With murals and artworks all over Fresno and Modesto. His range knows no limit, and he will be creating original works throughout the tunnels and on Buddies.
