Is Outside Lands all ages?

Yes, Outside Lands is an all ages event. We strive to make Outside Lands a safe and unforgettable experience for each and every attendee.

What is the bag policy at Outside Lands?

While we would prefer that fans come bag free, we realize that is not always possible. Help us to help you enjoy the festival by only bringing the following types and size bags:

  • Backpacks and bags made of clear plastic, clear vinyl, or clear PVC

  • Small bags, fanny-packs, purses up to 6” x 8” x 3” (do not have to be clear)

  • Empty dedicated hydration packs with a bladder capacity of under 2.5L/150 in. and no more than one additional pocket. 

  • Standard size backpacks with hydration bladders will not be permitted.

Are there lockers we can use to store our belongings during the festival?

Keep your belongings safe and your phone charged all festival long when you reserve your 8" x 12" x 18" private locker, complete with a universal phone charger! 

A stress-free Outside Lands awaits with unlimited access during the festival, plus the option to leave non-perishable items overnight.

What items are NOT permitted at the festival?

Not Permitted: 

  • Non-clear drawstring backpacks

  • Weapons of any kinds (including pocket knives) 

  • Illegal substances 

  • Glow-sticks (glow bracelets and necklaces are permitted) 

  • Alcohol (will be sold at the festival) 

  • Glass or cans of ANY kind 

  • Video or audio recording equipment (including GoPros - no video recording will be allowed) 

  • Professional still camera equipment with a detachable lens longer than 2 inches, tripods, big zooms, or commercial use rigs 

  • Skateboards, scooters or personal motorized vehicles 

  • Bicycles (not allowed inside festival grounds) 

  • Strollers, wagons or carts of any kind 

  • Hammocks or slack lines 

  • Fireworks, explosives or open flames of any kind

  • Instruments of any kind

  • Laser pointers 

  • Umbrellas 

  • Selfie sticks of ANY kind, including GoPro sticks 

  • Spray paint, large markers or Aerosol cans 

  • Picnic baskets 

  • Coolers 

  • Liquids (excluding personal sized hand sanitizers, which will be permitted) 

  • Lawn furniture or any stools or chairs with legs 

  • Large inflatables 

  • Tents 

  • Pets (except service animals) 

  • Drones 

  • Totems or flags 

  • Threatening signs or apparel 

  • Native American or “American Indian” headdresses

  • Spiked jewelry or clothing

  • No illegal vending is permitted (no unauthorized or unlicensed vendors are allowed)

  • Any other items deemed unsafe or inappropriate by event or venue management are also prohibited

Can I leave the festival and return the same day?

In general, re-entry is not allowed. You may enter the festival gates once each day. However, if you absolutely must leave the festival for an emergency or serious matter and intend to return the same day, you must speak with a Supervisor at any festival entrance/exit BEFORE LEAVING to be scanned out.

What is Outside Lands doing to reduce its environmental impact?

Each year we work with Clean Vibes and the San Francisco Department of the Environment to achieve the highest possible waste diversion rates of any festival in the country. All of the single-use cups, plates, bowls, and utensils are 100% compostable at Outside Lands thanks to our sustainability partner Eco-Products. The festival also provides hydration stations throughout the park for filling your reusable drinking vessels.

Outside Lands diverted 89% of all waste from the landfill in 2025.

  • Total Waste Produced — 372,644 pounds (186.32 tons)

  • Total Waste Diverted — 330,184 pounds (165.09 tons)

Diversion Breakdown: 

  • Compost - 122,484 pounds (61.24 tons)

  • Recycling/Reuse 207,700 pounds (103.85 tons)

  • Landfill 42,460 pounds (21.23 tons)

Where is the box office located and what are its hours?

How will I receive my ticket?

Tickets that were purchased prior to July 28, 2026 have been shipped in the form of wristbands. Your wristband is your ticket. 

If you have not received a tracking number by Monday, August 3, 2026, please get in touch with Front Gate Tickets ASAP through their website.

Any tickets purchased after July 28, 2026 must be picked up in person at the Box Office in Golden Gate Park (located at 25th Ave & Fulton) during its posted hours the week of the festival. A valid, government-issued ID is required for pickup.

How do I register my wristband?

Can I take off my Outside Lands wristband once I put it on my wrist?

Review our Do’s and Don’ts to keep your wristband safe!

  • DO put on and register your wristband before arriving at the festival gates so it is visible and ready to scan.

  • DON’T take it off – wristbands are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. It cannot be loosened, so please be careful to allow breathing room when putting it on.

  • DO take care of your wristband and treat it like cash – it’s your ticket! Wristbands will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

  • DON’T cut or twist any part of your wristband, it will fray (cut wristbands will NOT be reissued for any reason).

  • DO shower with it, it's waterproof!

What happens if I lose / misplace my wristband?

Wristband replacement is subject to verification of the order. If you need a replacement, please bring your wristband, order number and government-issued ID to the festival box office. Replacement wristbands are only available for orders purchased through Front Gate Tickets or the Ticketmaster Verified Exchange and will be replaced one time only. Please note there is a $25 wristband replacement fee.

Can I sell 1 day of my 3-Day ticket?

For your 3-Day ticket, you will only receive ONE ticket (in wristband form) that you will wear each day to grant you access into the festival. Thus, if you choose to sell your 3-Day ticket, you must sell all three days. This is due to the tickets being in wristband form. It cannot be removed once put on, and any loose wristbands will be confiscated. Any wristbands that have been tampered with will be void and you will not be given access to the festival.

Can somebody else pick up my ticket for me?

If you need someone else to pick up your wristband from will call, please get in touch with Front Gate Tickets through their website to add an alternate pick up name to the order.

Do children get in for free?

Children under the age of 2 do not need a wristband to get into the festival.

I bought tickets from a "friend" / scalper / third party. How can I verify if this ticket is legitimate?

We can only guarantee ticket validity for purchases made through our official vendor, Front Gate Tickets, via the tickets page of our website.

Can I get a refund on my Outside Lands ticket?

Refunds are available only in the event if Outside Lands is rescheduled or entirely canceled. Your tickets will be refunded if purchased through our Outside Lands authorized ticket vendor, Front Gate Tickets. We cannot verify the policies of third party ticket resellers.

Will there be food at the festival?

Outside Lands partners with some of the best restaurants and food trucks the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer. A full list of diverse food vendors on our Taste of the Bay Area can be found HERE. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options will be available.

How can I stay hydrated at the festival?

There are water refill stations located throughout the festival. Play your part by bringing a reusable container for free refills to stay hydrated all weekend.

Can I smoke in the park?

Golden Gate Park is completely tobacco free!

Can I stay overnight in the park?

Outside Lands is not a camping festival and you cannot sleep in Golden Gate park or your vehicle. No exceptions.

Are strollers allowed?

Due to the rough terrain within Golden Gate Park, strollers are NOT permitted at Outside Lands.

Can I bring in my prescription medicine?

You may bring in medical prescriptions as long as your name is clearly on the prescription label and you have a valid ID. Names on the prescription must match your valid ID.

Do you have a Lost & Found or Information Booth?

Lost & Found is located at the Information Booth on the Polo Field across from Dolores’. Stop by to get your questions answered, check out the festival map, or just to say hi. You can also access our online Lost & Found portal at sfoutsidelands.com/lost.

Cashless Policy

Outside Lands is cashless. Credit cards, debit cards, and digital methods of payment are accepted at all points of sale.

*Grass Lands (a 21+ area) will still accept cash and will have ATMs.

PLAN YOUR TRIP

There is NO general event parking available at the festival. Please leave your car at home. Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is reserved for residents and strictly enforced. Attempting to park in surrounding neighborhoods may result in a ticket or tow.

I'm traveling from another city, where should I fly in to?

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately 30 minutes from the festival site. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is approximately 50 minutes from the festival site.

ENTRANCE GATES

Line up to enter the festival from the north side at 26th & Fulton to access the North Gate.

Line up to enter the festival from the south side at Martin Luther King Jr. & Metson to access the South Gate.

  • Use either 30th or 34th Ave to access Martin Luther King Jr & Metson

  • 31st - 33rd will be closed to all foot traffic and you will not be able to enter on these avenues

There is a designated ADA Entrance at 36th Ave & JFK.

Review the festival map and note which entrance is best for your ticket type.


For GA+ ticket holders: 

Line up to enter the festival from the north side at 26th & Fulton to access the North Gate. The GA+ expedited entry is on the far left when you arrive at the North Gate. 

Line up to enter the festival from the south side through the South VIP Gate on Martin Luther King Jr Drive (just west of the South Gate).


For VIP & Golden Gate Club ticket holders: 

The VIP Entrance is located on the north side at 36th Ave & JFK Drive featuring a dedicated lane exclusively for Golden Gate Club members. 

If you are taking the official Outside Lands Shuttle, for your convenience, there is a VIP Entrance on the south side located on Martin Luther King Jr Drive, west of the South Gate.

SHUTTLES

Save your steps for the show and leave the trouble of reliable transportation to us! We offer prepaid, roundtrip 3-Day and Single Day Shuttle Passes from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in Downtown San Francisco, with convenient drop off and pick up at the festival’s South Gate. 

What to know before you secure your pass: 

  • This is a pre-paid, roundtrip shuttle service departing from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, located in the heart of downtown San Francisco next to Civic Center Plaza. 

  • Shuttles drop off and pick up near the festival’s South Gate entrance/exit.

  • Parking is not included in the price of your Shuttle Pass.

  • We strongly recommend that you take public transportation to Civic Center Plaza via BART, Muni, or Caltrain.

Your shuttle schedule: 

  • Shuttles begin running each day at 11 AM. 

  • Shuttles run continuously all day with limited coverage from 5-8 PM.

  • The last shuttle to the festival departs at 8 PM. 

  • Return shuttles run continuously until one hour after the music ends each night. 

Don’t miss your ride home:

  • When leaving the event at the end of the night, be sure to exit on the south side through the South Tunnel or Grass Lands exits for the shuttle pick-up. 

  • There are no shuttle drop-off or pick-up locations on the north side of the festival.

  • You must exit on the south side of the festival to access your shuttle pick-up location at the end of the night.

  • Review the Shuttle Map for the best entry and exit routes, pick-up/drop-off locations, and more.

BART

BART will run service in the Millbrae direction until approximately 1AM and in East Bay directions until approximately 12:30AM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Plan your trip using the BART Trip Planner.

 BART Parking is free after 3PM on Friday and is free on Saturday and Sunday except for the Milpitas and Berryessa/North San Jose stations, which are not operated by BART.

BART now accepts credit card “Tap and Ride” payments making it even easier for you to ride. For more information, visit their website here.

MUNI

Muni continues to be a great way to get to and from Outside Lands from all over the city. Muni is providing extra service to ensure festival ticket holders have more ways to get to and from Golden Gate Park:

  • Pre-event (outbound to the park): Take 5 Fulton or 5R Fulton Rapid buses from downtown to Fulton & 30th Ave. We will also run extra N Judah trains along all of the line’s normal stops.

  • Post-event (inbound to downtown): There will be a special 5X Civic Center Express buses that will take you directly from Fulton & 30th back to Civic Center/UN Plaza BART. We will also continue to run extra N Judah trains at all normal stops.

BIKE

Outside Lands offers free self-park bicycle parking during festival hours in designated areas located along the east and south sides of the festival.

Need a bike to ride to Outside Lands? Lyft Bikes has you covered with special stations on the north and south sides of the festival. On-site valets will make sure there’s an open dock for you to park when you roll up to the festival, and a bike when you’re ready to head home.

Designated Lyft Bike station locations:

  • JFK Drive, just east of Transverse Drive, near the North Gate festival entrance 

  • Martin Luther King Jr Drive, just east of the South Gate festival entrance

WALK

San Francisco is a walkable city! Walking is a great way to get to the festival. Refer to the Entrance Gates section above for information on the best gates to route to if you’re arriving on foot.

DRIVE

There is NO general event parking available at the festival. Please leave your car at home. Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is reserved for residents and strictly enforced. DROP OFFS

If you’re planning on getting dropped off at Outside Lands, please know that some streets will be congested or closed entirely to traffic. You can expect nearby streets to be especially congested before and after the event. 

For this reason, we suggest you get dropped off several blocks north or south of the park. We recommend Geary Blvd or Balboa St to the north, or Irving Street to the south. 

Official rideshare pick-up and drop-off locations are: 

  • Balboa & 30th Avenue (adjacent to George Washington High School) 

  • Irving St. between 25th and 27th Avenue 

Requesting your ride to and from these locations will help you avoid any issues.

The SFMTA’s Slow Streets program is designed to limit through traffic on certain residential streets and allow them to be used as a shared space for people traveling by foot and by bicycle. There are several slow streets in the immediate area, which will further impact vehicular traffic.

Health & Safety

Is there a medical staff on-site at Outside Lands?

Rock Medicine will be on-site to help you with any type of medical problem. Rock Medicine has been providing free medical care at concerts and festivals since 1973. If you need medical assistance, please alert a staff member.

What should I do if I have a security issue or witness an emergency situation?

Event staff, security personnel and law enforcement will be located throughout the site for the duration of the event to create a safe and secure environment for all festival attendees. 

If you have an EMERGENCY, find a staff member with a radio or go to the closest information, medical tent, or entrance gate for assistance. Be ready to convey the nature and details of the incident.

How do I find an emergency exit?

Emergency exit and evacuation route signs are posted throughout the festival. Please remember to familiarize yourself with your nearest exit as you move around the festival site. 

In case of emergency, listen to instructions and follow directions posted on the stage screens.

If you are requesting a Sign Language interpreter, please make your requests at least 30 days in advance of the festival dates to ensure availability and to allow for adequate preparation. We will attempt to arrange an interpreter on shorter notice, but cannot guarantee availability.
