San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department
Since 2008, Outside Lands has proudly partnered with San Francisco Recreation & Parks to support and enhance the city’s extensive parks system. Through this enduring partnership, the festival has contributed more than $49 million to SF Rec and Park. A portion of every ticket sold directly supports park stewardship, infrastructure improvements, and community programs throughout Golden Gate Park and across the city’s parks system, ensuring the benefits of the festival are enjoyed year-round by residents and visitors.

Richmond and Sunset District
As part of the Outside Lands partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, there is a Community Benefits Fund established each year for the two neighborhoods surrounding Golden Gate Park - the Richmond and Sunset Districts. The funds help to support a wide range of programs within the neighborhoods, including film festivals, community and cultural events, projects at local schools, improvements at recreation centers, protections for wildlife and environment, and more.

The Mission

The Mission

More than a festival, Outside Lands is a year-round community. The Mission is where fans can discover causes, connect with nonprofits, and find meaningful ways to take action both locally and globally.

OUR NEIGHBORS

OUR NEIGHBORS

Outside Lands is committed to being a responsible neighbor to the communities surrounding Golden Gate Park. Throughout the year, we work closely with residents, neighborhood groups, city agencies, and local stakeholders to share information, gather feedback, and address concerns. To help minimize impacts, we implement a comprehensive neighborhood mitigation program that includes community outreach, traffic and transportation planning, noise management, enhanced sanitation services, public safety coordination, and post-event cleanup efforts.

“As our city continues to rise, events like these help drive tourism, create jobs, and remind people why San Francisco remains one of the greatest cities in the world.”
