Outside Lands is almost here! Whether you’re an old friend of Ranger Dave’s or a first-time festival goer, here’s what to know before you head to Golden Gate Park.
Transportation Information
We STRONGLY recommend that you do not drive to the events. Parking is extremely limited in the surrounding neighborhoods, reserved for residents, and strictly enforced. There is NO general event parking, and attempting to park in surrounding neighborhoods may result in a ticket or tow.For detailed information on how to get to the festival, visit our Travel & Transport section of our Info page.

Save your steps for the show and leave the trouble of reliable transportation to us! We offer prepaid, roundtrip 3-Day and Single Day Official Shuttle Passes from two convenient San Francisco locations: Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in Downtown San Francisco (Local Shuttle), and new this year, the Park & Ride Shuttle atCow Palace located South of San Francisco. Brush up on the Do’s & Don’ts from Ranger Dave & Ruth:
Do be kind to our valued park neighbors when coming and going, fellow audience members, and our staff. Everyone’s here to have fun, so keep the good vibes running high and treat others with respect.
Don’t wave your valuables in the air like you just don’t care. Keep an eye on your personal belongings, or (better yet) leave them at home or in a convenient, on-site storage locker.
Do remember that San Francisco summers can get quite chilly. Be prepared—check the weather forecast, bring layers for when the fog rolls in, wear comfortable shoes for uneven park terrain, and stay hydrated! Bring a refillable bottle and use the event map to find free water refill stations onsite.
Do tune in to your surroundings and if you see something, say something. Keep an eye on your friends and get them help if you think they need it. Look for a member of Outside Lands’ Medical & Safety team and clue them in, anything you tell them is confidential.

Sustainability
We’re making big strides behind the scenes: many artist areas and light towers now run on solar power, and all generators use R99 renewable diesel—cutting emissions by up to 80%. We’ve also swapped single-use astroturf for recyclable carpet, keeping over 12,000 lbs of waste out of the landfill.
We’ve made the switch to paper cups for our cocktails. The new paper cups create 80% fewer emissions when compared to the PLA compostable plastic cups and are much easier to break down into compost.
Cashless Policy
Outside Lands is cashless. Credit cards, debit cards, and digital methods of payment are accepted at all points of sale. *Grass Lands presented by Zig-Zag (a 21+ area) will still accept cash and will have ATMs.
